Position Hiring:  Piano Teacher

We are searching for a talented and dependable Piano Teacher to join our school. The Piano Teacher’s responsibilities include: evaluating pupils’ needs and providing engaging lessons that will help them achieve their goals, using technology,  . You will prepare students for recitals, exams, and competitions, and also teach music theory.

Here are a few more specifics that you get to do for this great job:

• Teaching Small Group Classes on our high-end digital pianos, possibly some private lessons, as well

• Comfortable using awesome technology during your lessons (digital assignment books, sight-reading apps, note reading apps, etc.)

• You'll have time to greet Students and their families before and after class

• Emphasis on not only fun, but also on Technique & Theory

• Taking Attendance at each lesson

• We have tons of Repertoire available, and you'll also be able to include some of your favorites. 

• You'll provide a quick Monthly feedback for each student

• Preparing students for exams, recitals, concerts, and other events.

• Motivating students, especially when they are struggling and progress is slow.

• Providing constructive feedback and adjusting lessons as required

• You are prepared to start at part-time hours and grow as the role grows

• You can still keep your private home studio students. This is not an exclusive contract.

• Commit to at least 2-3 days per week. 4-5 hours in the afternoon on weekdays or Saturday morning or afternoon. You cannot teach one day a week.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Music, Music Education, Music Performance, Piano Pedagogy, may also be a current music major or graduate. 

• RCM certification, MTAC membership would be advantageous.

• Strong musical ability, as well as proven piano skills and knowledge.

• Previous experience as a music teacher is helpful, but not required.

• Fluent sight-reading.

• Patience, cheerfulness, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Your extreme promptness will help ensure a happy environment for students, other teachers and staff. Everyone is expected to show up early for scheduled practice sessions, recitals, competitions, and other events.

• Strong motivational skills.

• Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses.

• Attend and actively engage in school-wide meetings and events

• Communicate with students, parents, and director on a regular basis

• Work closely with school director to develop programs for the school
